On Thursday last, the 21st May, we held the inaugural event of our summer TT series on our 5-mile long Candover Valley course; the event attracted 11 riders, primarily from Alton CC but with a further two from other clubs, or no club at all. We had just a single female participant, Lucy Elliot, and ages ranged from 38 to 71.
Alton CC’s Lucy Elliot took 1st place in the lady’s competition, albeit with no competition, with a 13’46” run, 11’56” on handicap.
In the men’s contest, Alton CCs own Simon Potter claimed 1st place in the open competition with a great time of 11’07”, with Chris Palmer (no club) second with a 12’04” run, and Tom Sadowski of Velo Club Venta just a few seconds behind for third place on 12’07”.
In the club handicap competition, Ian came out on top with his 10’59” run, just pipping Simon’s 11’07” who, in turn, just pipped Shaun with his 11’13”.
Our thanks go to Mike and Alan our timekeepers and to Becci our marshal who ensured the smooth running of the event.
